Image-Guided Tissue Diagnosis
A breast biopsy collects a tissue sample from a selected breast finding for histopathology assessment. Core needle biopsy is one image-guided method used when clinically recommended.
The radiologist reviews the imaging target and plans sampling under ultrasound or another appropriate guidance method. A biopsy recommendation does not by itself establish a diagnosis.
Clear, clinically directed guidance
Breast Biopsy is considered when the breast finding, imaging appearance and clinical question support that procedure. The target and method should be confirmed from current imaging rather than selected from a website alone.
Bring previous mammography, ultrasound, MRI or pathology records where available. Allergies, bleeding history and current medicines must be shared before an image-guided breast procedure.
Breast FNAC, core biopsy, cyst aspiration, marker placement and wire localisation serve different purposes. The procedure team explains what is being done, how imaging guidance is used and what follow-up is expected.
Do not stop prescribed medicines unless specifically advised. Reporting, dressing care, observation and next steps depend on the procedure and the clinical plan.
